Privacy Policy

Overview

TrailCam Manager ("the App", "we", "us") is a native iOS application for managing trail camera placements. We take your privacy seriously. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What We Collect

When you create an account and use the App, we collect:

• Email address — used for account creation and login only
• GPS coordinates — the latitude and longitude you choose to record for each camera placement
• Placement data — camera labels, directions, dates, notes, equipment details (SD card, battery info) that you enter
• Placement photos — photos you optionally attach to placements, stored in private cloud storage

We do not collect location data in the background. GPS is only accessed when you explicitly tap "Use My Current Location" or open the offline GPS navigator, and only while the App is in the foreground.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect crash analytics, usage telemetry, or behavioral tracking data
• We do not access your photo library except when you explicitly choose to attach a photo
• We do not track your location in the background
• We do not collect any data from your trail cameras themselves — the App is for management only

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database platform, with the following protections:

• Row-level security ensures your account can only access your own data
• All connections are encrypted in transit (TLS)
• Placement photos are stored in private cloud storage — inaccessible without a valid authenticated session
• Your data is never shared with third parties and is never sold

The App also caches data locally on your device (in the app's private documents directory) to enable offline access. This local data is not accessible to other apps and is removed when you delete the App.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database and authentication backend. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Apple MapKit — satellite map tiles. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store — app distribution. Apple may collect app store analytics per their policies

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social media integrations.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@trailcammanager.com with the subject "Delete My Account". We will permanently delete all your data within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify users via the App where required by applicable law.
