Privacy Policy

Overview

TrailCam Manager ("the App", "we", "us") is a native iOS application for managing trail camera placements. The App requires no account and sends no data to any server. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What We Collect

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• GPS coordinates — the latitude and longitude you choose to record for each camera placement
• Placement data — camera labels, directions, dates, notes, and equipment details (SD card, battery info) that you enter
• Placement photos — photos you optionally attach to placements, stored in the app's private documents directory on your device

We do not collect location data in the background. GPS is only accessed when you explicitly tap "Use My Current Location" or open the GPS navigator, and only while the App is in the foreground.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your email address, name, or any account information — no account is required
• We do not transmit any data to external servers
• We do not collect crash analytics, usage telemetry, or behavioral tracking data
• We do not access your photo library except when you explicitly choose to attach a photo
• We do not track your location in the background
• We do not collect any data from your trail cameras themselves — the App is for management only

How Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored exclusively on your device in the app's private documents directory. It is not accessible to other apps and is removed when you delete the App.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, Apple will include the App's documents directory in your iCloud backup. This backup is encrypted and controlled entirely by your Apple ID. We have no access to it.

The App's Settings tab lets you export a backup file manually and save it anywhere you choose (including iCloud Drive), and restore from that file on a new device. This backup is a local file transfer — no data passes through our servers.

Third-Party Services

• Apple MapKit — satellite map tiles. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store — app distribution. Apple may collect app store analytics per their policies
• Apple iCloud — optional device backup, controlled by your Apple ID settings

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, cloud backends, or social media integrations.

Data Deletion

Because no data is stored on our servers, deleting the App from your device removes all data the App has stored. You can also clear all data at any time from within the App via Settings → Clear All Data.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
